Some
children say that soapy water is acidic and some says alkaline. Grape peel will
tell us whether soap water is acidic or alkaline. We will do experiment. We
want (a cup of water, beaker, grape peel, tripod stand, funnel, filter paper
matches, funnel stand, wire mesh, dropper, alcohol lamp, test tube, soapy
water). First pour water into the beaker containing the grape peel. Make sure
the peel is fully submerged. Next, beat the beaker containing grape peel using
an alcohol lamp. When it’s boiled we have to wait till it cools down. Next we
have to pour soap water into a test tube. We have to place the filter paper on
the funnel. We will place the funnel on the funnel stand. We will filter the
grape peel indicator. Next, we will use a dropper and we will put two to three
drops of our indicator into the test tube containing soap water. If the colour
changes into red then the soap water is acidic and if it turns into green or
blue it says that it is alkaline. So, it has turn into a blue colour so, soapy
water is alkaline.
